Eternal Ritual
  Stage Names

The Stage Names of the Eternal Midnight band has always been a popular topic in the visual kei scene. They are one of the first to use such dark, negative names as celebrities. Their stage names are also one of the things that make Eternal Midnight intriguing among the fans of heavier Jrock music.

These names are not chosen at random choice, however. They have their own meanings related to the band's theme as well.

- Yoru, meaning Night. Yoru took it as an expression of one of their themes of darkness and the night. He, being the 'vampire' also contributes to the choice of name, as Vampires only prowl in the night. Therefore he also represents Darkness and Evil.

- Kage, meaning Shadow. Kage's self-proclaimed supernatural being is also Shadow. Shadows are also a representation of something negative, or sometimes, evil. Therefore Kage represents Insecurity and Anger.

- Akatsuki, meaning Red Moon. She chose it as a symbol of something strange, mysterious and frightening. Her supernatural being is a Banshee, a different kind of female vampire, who yearns for blood and wishes harm on people due to her broken heart during her death. Also, a red moon signifies evil and bad omens, hence, she represents Hate and Inner Conflict.

- Akumu, meaning Nightmare. Nightmares are the negative manifestation of a dream. Usually, something horrifying that shows the fears of dreamer. Just like a Ghost, nightmares can either fade away, or continue to manifest its evil strongly. Akumu represents Fear and Helplessness.

- Hiai, meaning Pain. Most people dislike, or even fear pain. Pain has always been a fear among people, in which they try to avoid it both physically, mentally and emotionally. Being a Werewolf, where the human side cannot control the beast side, they would be forced to endure the emotional pain of killing, and also the physical pain, as their body transforms into a fearsome beast. Hiai represents Torment and Confusion.

- Inori, meaning Prayer. Inori, being the latest member of the band; they have decided at that time that all humans would at least once in their lives, whisper a prayer. All humans worship, to different things, and Elementals are one of them; be it the Fire, Wind or Skies. She represents Hope and Faith.
